About this event
Description
Internet Registration has not begun yet. Check Registration Dates in details.
Eco-Medics is a life sciences camp for students in Grades 4-5 who are curious about animals, health, and how living systems work. Campers will explore topics in zoology, biochemistry, and environmental health, discovering how science and medicine help us care for both animals and ecosystems!
Through hands-on investigations and interactive activities, campers will explore how science and technology are used in life and health-related fields. They will learn about tools, techniques, and problem-solving skills used by scientists and medical professionals, and how these careers support both people and the environment. Where possible, campers may also take part in unique experiences such as special visits or mentor-led activities that help connect camp learning to real-world science and health careers.
Expect to see: Hands-on life science and medical-themed activities, exploration of animal health, biology, and biochemistry, and connections to careers in veterinary and life sciences!
Eco-Medics is for youth entering Grades 4 & 5 in September 2026.
Camp will take place Monday-Friday from 9 AM-4 PM. This summer we are offering Extended Care (optional, for an additional flat fee) in which campers can be dropped off starting at 8:10 AM and picked up any time between 4-4:50 PM. You can opt into Extended Care upon registering a camper for a given camp week. Please note that campers in Grade 6 or higher are permitted to be designated for “Self Sign-Out” of themselves and younger siblings. For more information, please visit our website (www.uoguelph.ca/creative-encounters/).
Please do not hesitate to email us at cse@uoguelph.ca if you have any questions and we will get back to you as soon as we can. We are looking forward to another amazing summer of in-person STEM camps!
All of our camps are based out of Albert A. Thornbrough and Richards Building (Engineering Buildings on the U of G’s main campus) unless stated otherwise.
Parents/guardians will be emailed a “Pre-Camp Package” prior to camp with specific pick-up/drop-off locations and further details.
