About this event
Description
Internet Registration has not begun yet. Check Registration Dates in details.
Tech Quest is a hands-on technology and robotics camp for students in Grades 4-5 who are interested in building, coding, and problem-solving. Using LEGO Robotics kits, campers will design, build, and program robots while learning how hardware and software work together!
Campers will explore circuits, motors, sensors, and coding as they tackle a variety of engineering challenges. Through testing, troubleshooting, and redesign, they will apply their skills to open-ended problems, including friendly battle-bot challenges, that encourage creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Expect to see: Building and programming robots using LEGO Robotics kits, introductory coding with motors and control systems, engineering challenges that promote testing and iteration, team-based problem-solving and friendly robot competitions, and opportunities to learn from local robotics mentors!
Tech Quest is for youth entering Grades 4 & 5 in September 2026.
Camp will take place Monday-Friday from 9 AM-4 PM. This summer we are offering Extended Care (optional, for an additional flat fee) in which campers can be dropped off starting at 8:10 AM and picked up any time between 4-4:50 PM. You can opt into Extended Care upon registering a camper for a given camp week. Please note that campers in Grade 6 or higher are permitted to be designated for “Self Sign-Out” of themselves and younger siblings. For more information, please visit our website (www.uoguelph.ca/creative-encounters/).
Please do not hesitate to email us at cse@uoguelph.ca if you have any questions and we will get back to you as soon as we can. We are looking forward to another amazing summer of in-person STEM camps!
All of our camps are based out of Albert A. Thornbrough and Richards Building (Engineering Buildings on the U of G’s main campus) unless stated otherwise.
Parents/guardians will be emailed a “Pre-Camp Package” prior to camp with specific pick-up/drop-off locations and further details.
