About this event
Instructor: Matt Andrews Skill Level: Beginner Medium: Gouache Total Class Hours: 15 Description: Learn to use gouache (opaque watercolors) by translating light, form, and color of the 3D world into 2D paintings. Gouache is a medium where the amount of water mixed with the paint controls the transparency/opacity. This makes it one of the most portable opaque painting mediums - a little goes a long way. Over this five week class, you will learn to control what your gouache looks like wet vs dry, how to mix colors as true-to-life as possible, paint without the use of photographs, and how to preserve your work. We will start with simple volumes and still life subjects, and eventually move to painting architecture and people. In the end, you will be ready to take gouache to paint anything anywhere. (Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.) Website: https://mandraws.com/paint/ Instagram: @mattandrewsart Supplies: Students will purchase supplies. A list of supplies will be sent two weeks before class. Approximate cost of supplies: $50.
