RFKC’s L2 clinic focuses on correct mechanics. We’re talkin’ drills baby, drills! The purpose of the L2 clinic is a lot of guided practice, getting pointers, refining your paddling to be more efficient, and… getting better at kayaking! Time will be spent on: breaking down individual paddle strokes (forward, reverse, sweeps, blade feathering); rolling; boat control to get more out of ferries; eddy turns for positioning (ending up exactly where you want to be in eddies); combining multiple features (e.g. eddy -> surf -> wave train), and planning out complex lines. Who’s it for: Paddlers who are feeling comfortable being in moving water in their boat and are hungry to get better. Paddlers who want to keep up with their friends and feel more comfortable pushing into harder (Class II+ and up) whitewater. Paddlers who want to have an easier day on the water and paddle more efficiently. Roll not required. Gear available!
