About this event

The 8th annual Gallatin Shamrock Run takes place in Historic Downtown Gallatin, Tennessee on Sturday, March 12, 2022. It starts at the Gallatin City Hall and winds through beautiful downtown Gallatin. This primarily flat course is great for runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. The 10K participants will run the 5K course twice and have 90 minutes to complete the race. Participants in the 5K will be grouped by estimated completion time and have 60 minutes to finish. Participants are encouraged to dress up in their most creative St. Patrick’s Day attire and to enjoy the festivities at the start / end of the race. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers male and female, and awards will be given for the best St. Patrick's Day costume and the most team spirit.

Proceeds from the Race go to the Gallatin Chamber Foundation. The Gallatin Chamber Foundation is the Gallatin Area Chamber of Commerce’s 501(c)3 component that exists to encourage, promote, and support innovative enhancement projects and creative initiatives within the City of Gallatin.

Event details and schedule

Gallatin Shamrock Run 5k & 10k

Date of the Event: Saturday, March 12, 2022

Location: Gallatin City Hall, 132 W Main Street, Gallatin, Tennessee*

Registration the morning of the race: Registration, the morning of the event, will open at 6:15 am. The 10K race will start promptly at 7:15 am with the 5K run/walk kicking off at 7:30 am. Roads will close at 7:00 am in and around the racecourse.

10K 7:00 AM – Corral Opens 7:15 AM Start Time

5K 7:20 AM Corral Opens 7:30 AM Start Time

All Participants must complete the race by 9:00 AM.

Helpful Tips and Important Information:

  • All roads included along the route will close between 6:45 am and 7:00 am!
  • The number one question we receive is, "When should we arrive?" We advise arriving by 6:30 AM - 6:45 AM at the latest.
  • GET THERE EARLY! The closer to race time you arrive, the greater the likelihood of lines for packet pick-up, registration, parking, and restrooms. If you wait until after 7:00 AM to arrive, expect heavy traffic, to be rerouted for parking, and long lines at packet pick-up/registration.
  • *PARKING is available along SMITH STREET. Do not try to park along Main Street, Franklin Street, North Water Avenue, or along the main route to get to the start location. A parking map will be emailed to you prior to the race and available in your race packet at pick up.
  • Participants must register by February 10, 2022, to be guaranteed a race shirt.
  • All participants for the 10K need to be ready to line up at the start line by 7:00 AM and 7:15 AM for the 5K. Nobody will be permitted to start the race after 7:30 AM.
  • All participants must complete the race by 9:00 AM.
  • Do you have a family member, church group, or best friends’ group who want to participate? Tell them to line up along the route to cheer you and other participants on to the finish line!
  • If you are a participant who wants to use a backpack during the race - please take note that we only allow CLEAR backpacks; all others are prohibited.
  • Don’t forget the COSTUME Contest! Don your best Irish / Green attire!
  • Start times are subject to change, so keep your eyes peeled for email updates from us or follow us on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/Gallatin5KShamrockRun. Please be in your corral five minutes prior to the start of your race. Remember to social distance. There will be a break of approximately three minutes between the 10k and 5k. This event is rain or shine. Be sure to cross the finish line! NOTE: EMAILS will be sent to the email provided at registration.
  • Packet Pick Up: Thursday, March 10th, 2 pm to 5 pm, Friday, March 11th, 10 am to 5 pm, and 6:15 am on Saturday, March 12th.
  • No refunds will be issued for this event; however, you may transfer your registration to someone else.

IMPORTANT: Although we do not foresee issues at this time, we will continue to closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and are following guidelines as provided by the State of Tennessee Department of Health. We realize changes can occur rapidly and we are prepared to make necessary modifications to events, should there be a need, as safety of our vendors and attendees are of greatest concern.

Please note that the event format may change to a VIRTUAL RACE should the need arise to make a format change. Should changes occur to this event, you will be notified of the change via email as soon as possible. No refunds will be issued as the event will become a VIRTUAL RACE should the need arise. We appreciate your understanding and commitment to keeping the Gallatin community safe and strong.

What is a virtual race? A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. You can run, job, or walk on the road, on a trail, on the treadmill, at the gym, or on the track. You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time yourself. Once you complete your run (or walk) and register your completion (information will be provided on this procedure), your medal and shirt (if applicable) will be shipped directly to you.
