Description

The visit will begin with lunch on your own at Rip's Country Inn, followed by an exploration of the evolution of radio- from Marconi's early wireless telegraph and the crystal sets of the 1920s to Depression-era cathedral radios, post-war portable sets, and eventually the emergence of television. The National Capital Radio & Television Museum showcases how broadcasting has shaped everyday life from 1920s to today. The museum is housed in the historic 1906 Harmel House, which requires visitors to climb a flight of stairs to reach the second floor. For guests unable to use the stairs, a video tour of the second-floor exhibits will be available. Please bring cash.
