About this event
Six IN-PERSON sessions March 19, 26, April 2, 9, 16, 23 When we make a decision, we usually imagine that knowledge, experience, and reason are the tools people use. Truth is, we often rely on “educated guesses,” “gut-feelings,” and sometimes just “blind faith.” These are forms of INTUITION. People use intuition to make choices and decisions constantly. But where does our intuition come from? Can intuition be right or wrong? Is it sometimes dangerous to trust our intuition? Are some people better at intuition than others? This will be a discussion-based class that will examine what intuition really is, what are its shortcomings, and can we really trust our intuition? This course will extend the ideas from “Good or Bad, Right or Wrong,” however, you don’t need to have taken that course to enjoy INTUITION. Veteran BULLI instructor Robert Powers has a Ph.D. in biochemistry and biostatistics from the Medical University of South Carolina and Masters of Divinity (Honors) from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. He has served on the faculties of Harvard Medical School, the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, Yale College of Medicine, and Gwinnett Technical College. He recently retired as director of research for the College of Health Sciences and Professions at the University of North Georgia and Chaplain at Riverside Military Academy.
