About this event
Three IN-PERSON Sessions (Note that each class session is 2 hours) June 4, 11, 18 American Mah Jongg is a fun, social, four-player game that uses the annual National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) card to determine winning hands. Classes start with the very basics and gradually build confidence, covering the rules, strategy, and how to understand and use the NMJL card. A helpful reference handout and practice Mah Jongg sets are provided — just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm! Robin Freeman has been playing American Mah Jongg for 15 years and has loved teaching the game for the past 3 years. Before retiring, she worked as an IT professional with an engineering background, which helps her break the game down in a clear, logical, and easy-to-learn way.
