Three IN-PERSON sessions June 3, 10, 17 This course is for those who love to read, and it will offer outstanding suggestions for this summer’s reading selections. We will begin with Kristen Hannah’s just published historical fiction The Women. The Color of Water by James McBride is next, a memoir which received both critical and popular acclaim. We will end with two short stories which will be provided on the first day of class, one by Raymond Carver and another by Budd Schulberg. What a lovely way to begin summertime! Bill Coates holds a Ph.D. in American literature from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Theological Seminary.
