About this event
Three IN-PERSON sessions June 1, 8, 15 This course will explore many groups from England who were influenced by American Blues music and Jazz to form the Trad Jazz and Skiffle groups which soon became Blues and Rock and Roll groups like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Animals and many others. We will listen to the music that carried us through our youth in the 1960s. A graduate of Georgia State University, Tom Dell played in Rock and Roll bands all through high school and college and travelled on the road with several different bands in several states. He has been teaching courses concerning the Origins of Rock and Roll and associated subjects for over ten years. He presents at the Emory OLLI program, SZEL in Alpharetta, PALS in Dunwoody, SUGA in Lawrenceville, CDSC in Decatur, GA, CLE in Highlands, NC, and several one-off programs for groups.
