Choose between two awesome crafting focuses, Archer’s Craft Bow-Making or Wood, Metal, and Leather! Archer’s Craft Bow-Making Day Camp Have you dreamed of making your own handmade bow and arrows? This is your chance to do it! In this program, campers will make a wooden long bow from a piece of wood, carving it down, shaping it, and tillering it so the bow works optimally. Campers will make their own string for the bow as well as a leather quiver to store their arrows. They will learn how to make arrows with feather fletching, leaving with a few arrows to put in their quiver. All materials needed to complete the project are provided. Campers will be taught the “instinctive” shooting method (a method used by people who rely on the bow in their daily lives). To take a project from raw materials to completion teaches competence and builds confidence. Instructor Peter Yencken has helped hundreds in making bows and learning to shoot. Wood, Metal, and Leather Day Camp Spend a week crafting your own handmade gear. You get the choice in what you create, including a knife with sheath, a pair of leather shoes, or a leather backpack. Yes, you can do it all! At the end of camp, you can wear shoes or a backpack that you’ve made yourself as well as walking away with a beautifully hand-crafted and functional knife.
