SHINE: Musical Theater Creation Intensive is a unique 6-day, immersive musical theater experience where students collaborate, write, compose, stage and perform a completely original musical — in just 6 days. From the first brainstorm to the final bow in our state-of-the-art black box studio theater, students become writers, composers, performers and creative leaders. Family & friends are invited to attend the final performance.
Students experience the magic of building a show from the ground up and experience exclusive "Lunch & Learn" sessions with agents, directors and working professionals shaping today’s theater industry.
Created and led by NYC-based, award-winning composer Brian Feinstein, founder of FeinLine Musical Theatre Academy (www.brianfeinsteinmusic.com)—whose musical Bad News Bears is Broadway-bound (ACT Theatre, San Francisco, 2027)—alongside Broward Center Artist-in-Residence Tammy Holder and Broward Center teaching artists, students will experience the magic of building a show from the ground up.
SHINE is not your typical summer theatre program — it's a full-scale creative production experience.
In just six days, students will:
- Create, write & perform a complete 15–20-minute original musical with 3-songs
- Develop story, characters and dialogue
- Learn staging, blocking and production techniques
- Rehearse in a professional theatre environment
- Perform in a live showcase for family and friends
