This special event, held at the beautiful Fort Frances Museum & Cultural Centre, invites you to enjoy a tasting menu inspired by regional history while discovering the stories behind the foods that helped shape our community. On the menu: Guests will sample a variety of dishes connected to the area’s culinary past, including Polonaise from the Rainy Lake Hotel, wild rice casserole, 1904 baked cauliflower, Swedish meatballs, and baked doughnuts. Each dish reflects a piece of local heritage, highlighting the ingredients, traditions, and people that influenced the way our community has eaten over the years. Between bites, learn about the history behind these recipes and the role food has played in daily life around Rainy Lake. From historic hotels to home kitchens, this evening offers a delicious way to explore the past.
