Plus, when it comes to produce, frozen is just as good as fresh—if not better. Produce is typically frozen during its peak season, meaning the fruits and veggies are nutrient-packed. To keep them that way, make sure to defrost gradually, especially with vegetables, which are better steamed than thrown into a microwave.

There's nothing worse than heading to the store, only to spend the first 10 minutes circling the parking lot, trying to nab an open spot. 

Avoid the headache by figuring out your store's peak hours. Though every store is different, it's a good rule of thumb to avoid grocery shopping in the early evenings, during rush hour, when everyone is heading home from work. 

Also, take into account when your store restocks goods or when weekly sales begin. And don't be afraid to ask a manager for insider tips. Most are happy to help you get the highest quality food at the best price—without fighting for a parking space.
