About this event
Intermediate - Advanced | TBD Materials and Studio Fees* In this workshop, participants will broaden their horizons by exploring the ceramic teapot and its many possibilities. Using both handbuilding and wheel-throwing techniques, we will learn how to create individual components that function well together, and how to assemble them into a cohesive object that tells a story. Through demonstrations, discussions, and hands-on exercises, we will examine the history, function, and aesthetics of the teapot, and discover how to express your artistic voice through this fascinating form. This workshop is open to intermediate and advanced ceramic artists. Participants will take home a selection of bisque-fired pieces and greenware. Prerequisites: Some previous clay experience is needed in order to create parts and assemble them on time. This workshop welcomes both handbuilders and wheel-throwers. *Materials and studio fees are charged to students based on studio usage and materials Touchstone is providing at the request of the instructor. Additionally, some instructors may also require that you bring certain materials and tools with you, in which case a list will be provided. Final cost of these fees will be posted at least two weeks ahead of the workshop to be paid in full prior to check-in.
