We envision this as an ongoing class that will enhance the cultural arts of Fairfax. About the Program Doug Ferrari is a working professional comedian and jokewriter who wrote for Rodney Dangerfield, the Tonight Show and countless other comedians. Lynnette Shaw has decades of production experience.We have been co-producing the professional-oriented Doug Ferrari’s Jokewriting Workshop at Mac’s every Tuesday. The concept for “Be Funny for Fun” is for an all ages round table class where everyone takes notes and supports each other, with guidance and creative writing from Doug and direction from Lynnette. Students need to bring a notebook and pen or pencil for ideas and notes. Phones will not be used for a good reason. Students might bring a goal, like giving a toast at a wedding or performing a few well chosen words at a family reunion. We record each person as they develop since we have found it makes them learn faster and helps them out. We anticipate that our graduation ceremony will be quite entertaining. Everyone will receive an official “Certificate of Funny” signed by Doug Ferrari. Laugh therapy is not about being in show business. It is just about showing people your sense of humor and having a funny take on whatever happens in life
