Lions, tigers, and bears! Oh My!
EPRD and Active Adult Programs are excited to announce the May 20th 2026 trip to the Denver Zoo! We'll explore captivating exhibits that bring our favorite animals within reach and learn more about how they survive in the wild.

The registration costs for this event include:
- Transportation to The Denver Zoo and back from Buchanan Park Recreation Center
- General Admission to Zoo
- Packed lunch
- Guided tour around the Zoo
- ...and so much more!
Please Note: This event is considered MEDIUM in terms of difficulty. The Zoo property takes place in a fully paved, ADA accessible location. However, all attendees must be able to mobilize themselves, whether by mechanical assistance (wheelchair, walker, cane, mobility aid) or on their own without assistance from EPRD staff. There will be a good bit of walking involved in this outing. We have VERY LIMITED spots for those using wheelchairs, if you would like to reserve one of these spots for Wheelchair access, you must reach out to Nick Braden (AA Program Coordinator) to confirm that reservation.
Event Schedule:
- Please arrive at BPRC (Bristlecone Lounge) by 10:45am and be ready to load up and hit the road by 11:00am Sharp.
- We will leave BPRC for the Zoo by 11:15am, arriving at the parking area by 11:45am. Packed lunches will be provided for each attendee during the ride down to the Denver Zoo. **For any dietary restrictions or allergies, please contact Nick Braden ahead of time so that we may accommodate those needs.
- Attendees are recommended to bring their own funding for purchases at the gift shop or at the snack stands. However, lunch is included in your Reservation and buying extras would not be necessary if you choose to do so.
- Once arriving at the Zoo, we will unload and make our way inside and begin our tour through the different exhibits. We have scheduled enough time on this excursion to include looking at all animal exhibits, but we will accommodate according to the comfort of the group as a whole.
- We will be exiting the Zoo and loading up on the bus around 3:30pm. We will then make our way back up to Evergreen and be back at BPRC no later than 4:15PM. Please have all transportation plans for getting home in place prior to leaving that morning.
