April 25 - May 9, Saturdays and Sundays, 12:00pm-10:00pm.
Prerequisites: 15 years old, and Bronze Cross (Assistant Instructor or assisting experience considered an asset).
This Instructor Combo Course will include Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor and Lifesaving Instructor certifications.
The Swim Instructor course prepares the new instructor to teach and evaluate the swimming strokes and related skills found in the Lifesaving Society's Swim For Life program. Candidates learn proven teaching methods, planning skills, a variety of stroke development drills and correction techniques.
The Lifesaving Instructor course prepares and certifies instructors to teach the Lifesaving Society's: Swim Patrol, Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, Lifesaving Fitness, Basic and Emergency First Aid, and CPR-A, CPR-B and CPR-C. Candidates learn proven teaching methods, planning skills, a variety of development drills and correction techniques.
There may be homework assigned in this course.
