May 22 - June 7. Fridays 6pm-10pm, Saturdays 4pm-8pm, Sundays 2pm-8pm.This Bronze Combo Course will include Bronze Medallion, and Bronze Cross, and Emergency First Aid.
Prerequisites: 13 years old
Bronze Medallion challenges the candidate both mentally and physically. Judgement, knowledge, skill and fitness - the four components of water rescue - form the basis of Bronze Medallion training. Candidates will acquire the assessment and problem solving skills required to make good decisions in, on, and around water.
Bronze Cross is designed for lifesavers who want the challenge of more advanced training, including an introduction to safe supervision within aquatic facilities. Bronze Cross is a prerequisite for all advanced training programs including National Lifeguard and Instructor certification. This course includes a timed endurance swim as well as a timed sprint.
First Aid training for emergency situations is also included in this course. You will be provided a copy of the Canadian Lifesaving Manual on the first day.
There may be some homework associated with this course.There will be a written (multiple choice) test for the Emergency First Aid portion.There will be a practical exam for the Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross portions.
