Description

Seasonal Scaries are the anxious thoughts that set in when the seasons change with the impending return of cold weather, holiday stress, etc. Acts of creativity help the mind organize and process these thoughts. This is a 4 week program that will introduce creative activities to middle school aged children. Registration options are 1 class/$20 or 4 classes/$65 DEAL.


11/5/20 - Miss Kayla will demonstrate the benefits of practicing creativity by guiding the class through an art project. Art supplies will be provided and final projects will be taken home.
11/19/20 - Miss Jess will demonstrate the benefits of practicing creativity by guiding the class in making hangers for their own air plants. Plants will be provided. Finished plant & hanger will be taken home.
12/3/20 - Miss Kelly will demonstrate the benefits of practicing creativity by breaking down the basics of knitting. First, the class will practice with knitting needles & yarn. Then, the class has the option to learn how to knit a chunky blanket using their hands & special yarn. IMPORTANT: beginner yarn & needles are included in registration fee. Kit to make a chunky blanket will cost an additional $50.00.
12/17/20 - Miss Jess will demonstrate how the benefits of creativity are comparable to the benefits of meditation through a brief stretching & breathing exercise. The class will discuss the importance of each item in the Emotion Toolbox that each student will take home.
THURSDAY EVENINGS 6:00pm - 7:00pm Held at Senior Center
