Discover the vibrant flavors of farm-to-table cooking, a fresh and inspiring approach that celebrates ingredients at their seasonal peak. Farm to-table food embraces the idea that the best dishes start with what’s grown close to home, produce picked at perfect ripeness, and ingredients sourced directly from local farms and markets. In this hands-on class, learn how to transform these simple ingredients into dishes that shine. Together, prepare a menu that captures the soul of the season. Create a rustic Ratatouille, a vegetable medley where eggplant, tomatoes, zucchini, and peppers are simmered together into a tapestry of sun-kissed flavor. Lighten things up with Zucchini & Feta Fritters, crisp on the outside and tender within, served with a cool, tangy yogurt dipping sauce that makes every bite irresistible. For dessert, layer juicy seasonal berries, pillowy whipped cream, and tender sponge cake into a Summer Berry Trifle, a refreshing, colorful finale that showcases the natural sweetness of peak-seasonal fruit. This class is part hands-on, part demo. $60 materials fee is due upon arrival to class (not included in registration fee listed below). Info: Melissa Byrne, 410-313-4704 or mbyrne@howardcountymd.gov.
