First Day Hikes are free, guided hikes offered each year on New Year’s Day. The hikes are intended to promote an alternate way of celebrating the New Year by going outside, getting some exercise, and enjoying local nature and history. Start your year off on the right foot by joining our knowledgeable park rangers, naturalists, and volunteers in one of our County’s beautiful parks.
Join rangers on a 2-mile, moderate-difficulty hike on the natural-surface Beach & Pond Trails. Enjoy views of the Chesapeake Bay and discover the winter wildlife that calls this area home. Warm up with complimentary Hot Chocolate and S'mores after the hike.
Sturdy footwear, binoculars for spotting wildlife, and a water bottle are recommended. Please dress for the weather. This program is free, but registration is required. Normal gate fees apply. For more information, contact Park Staff at 410-222-1978.
