7th ANNUAL SHANNON HEIL MEMORIAL
FIERCE RUNNING FESTIVAL
In 2013 Shannon Heil died in a head-on car crash. She was just 18 years old. But in her short time here, she created an amazing legacy of positive energy that had a profound effect on people. A beam of light that shined so bright people were just drawn to her energy. She was a commanding a presence—through her awkward personality, sense of humor, compassion and lens on life. She worked very hard at everything she did, always exceeding the expectations of others. When we started this foundation, we surveyed her closest friends for five attributes that best describe her personality… Dedicated. Driven. Spirited. Compassionate. Loving. These attributes drive everything this foundation does. It's what we call FIERCE.
The Fierce Running Festival is the largest fundraising event the foundation does each year which helps Fuel student scholarships, needs-based grants and our Global PayItForward / ShareForShannon.
