About this event
Try your hand at this traditional Japanese technique that combines earth, wind, and fire to achieve beautiful and unique results. This workshop will encompass two separate Sundays, as well as studio access in the time between for you to make your own pot, decorate using special glazes, and participate in the raku firing process! Join us for a fun peek into clay history! Saturday, October. 10th, 10am-noon: Building/making your pots. You may stay late and utilize the studio throughout the day to work on projects. You will have two weeks to finish your piece, have it bisque fired, and then glaze it. Sunday, October 24th, 9am-2pm (or whenever we can finish the firing!): Firing your pieces! You will be able to take home your finished work on this day. Please bring snacks, and maybe some knitting or another form of entertainment as usually we have a little downtime in between firings as the kiln re-heats. The instructor for this workshop will be: Charlotte Edminster
