Kitchen chemistry serves as an accessible path into STEM education, making scientific concepts tangible and relevant to every day life, so let’s get cooking! Cooking is chemistry, and in these classes, we will explore many of the chemical reactions that are in evidence when we cook, such as acid/base reactions, emulsification, Maillard reaction, and the effects of leavening agents. Participants will usually leave with their prepared food, some to be baked at home. Gluten free options available.
