The age calculation date for 2025-26 winter basketball is January 18, 2026. Please register your child for basketball based on their age as of January 18, 2026. Contact your Recreation Center with any questions.
Pee-wee recreational basketball is designed to teach the fundamentals of basketball in a team setting with modified rules and basket height. This recreational team/league emphasizes teamwork, skill development, sportsmanship, and camaraderie in a fun environment. Teams participate in regional leagues. Scores and standings are not kept. Teams practice twice Jan. 12-17. Teams have one practice and one game per week Jan. 19 - Feb. 28. Practice days are determined by recreation centers. Games will be played on Saturdays, typically between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, at varying locations. Game schedules will be available at www.denveryouthsports.org.
Holiday Conflicts: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and Presidents' Day typically occur during the Winter season. No practices or games will be scheduled for the weeks containing Christmas and New Year's. Practices scheduled for Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Presidents' Day may be rescheduled at the coach/recreation center's discretion.

Teams will be assigned based on the number of participants. If the minimum number of participants is not met players will be placed on a team at the next closest recreation center in their region.
