Welcome to Flat plane carving! Yes, this is a beginner carving project! It is a simple carving using only a knife. This is carved out of a 1x1 piece of basswood about 3 inches long. This will be a three-session series. Step-by-step instructions will be available for you to follow, and the instructor will be there to help you. Once you understand the basic cut with your knife or the one supplied you will have a lot of fun! There are many more animals that can be carved in this manner. Hope to see you there!
