This in-depth lecture explores Cubism, one of the most revolutionary art movements of the 20th century. Designed for adult learners with an interest in art history, modernism, or visual culture, this session will unpack how artists like Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque shattered centuries of representational art by reimagining space, perspective, and form. Through guided analysis, visual comparisons, and discussion, participants will understand the philosophical and aesthetic foundations of Cubism, learn to identify Analytic and Synthetic Cubism and distinguish their visual characteristics, and examine how Cubism reshaped not only painting but also sculpture, architecture, literature, and design.
