In this class, students will learn the basic process of creating a linoleum block print. We will start by choosing an image and learning how to transfer the image onto a linoleum block. Students will then learn how to use carving tools to carefully cut away parts of the block and create their design. Once the block is carved, we will apply ink and make prints on paper. Students will learn how the areas they carve and leave behind affect the final printed image. By the end of the class, each student will have created their own linoleum block and a printed copy of their design. Led by Imani Burke.
