Dr. Richard Owens, tenured history professor, published author of articles, historical novels, and children's books will share five weeks of history on the 1960s.

Oct. 2: Origins of the War in Vietnam: 1870-1940; WWII; and The Truman & Eisenhower Years, 1945-61.

Oct. 9: On the Edge: American Involvement under JFK & LBJ, 1961-1964. 

Oct. 16: Lyndon Johnson’s War. 

Oct. 23: The Nixon Years: 1969-1972.

Oct. 30: Topics A & B:

• Topic A: The National Context, Politics, and Protests of the Vietnam Era.
• Topic B: The Final Chapter:  Collapse - 1973-1975, and the Legacy of the Vietnam War.
