Once settlers arrived in Oregon to stake their claim, it was time to build a cabin and start a new beginning. Yet, where did they live in those first few months? How did they survive those terrible winters and build a cabin in the middle of nowhere? Sod vs wood? Crops versus cattle? What was it like day in and day out to survive on the prairie with little to no help. Thousands succeeded, yet thousands failed.
