We’ll take the mystery out of words like mixing and mastering — which really just mean “making your song sound balanced” and “giving it a final polish.” You don’t need fancy gear, a music degree, or any background in technology. We work in GarageBand or Logic Pro, so bring a Mac or an iPad — any recent model will do. GarageBand is free on both, so there’s nothing to buy. Bring a song you’ve already recorded — any style, any skill level. We won’t be recording in class; we’ll be shaping what you already have. Each week we work together on a real song from someone in the class, so you learn by doing rather than memorizing. What you’ll take away: a working understanding of how a song gets from rough recording to finished track, and the hands-on practice to keep going on your own.
