About this event
Have you ever wanted to try your hand at soap making but don’t know where to start, don’t want to be left with extra supplies, or are intimidated by the thought of working with lye? Mei-Ling Cheung has come up with an easy way to teach her soap making classes remotely and in person. If you can follow directions to a simple baking recipe, then you can make soap. The materials fee is included in the registration fee, as you will get to choose one of the following Blossom & Root Soap Making Kits to use: 1. Simple Grace Soap Kit is a basic soap, consisting of four base ingredients and has a lovely sage & lemongrass fragrance. It is great for an everyday hand and body cleanser. 2. Pure & Gentle Soap Kit is an unscented goats milk soap that is ideal for all skin types, including delicate sensitive skin. 3. Coffee Ground Garden Soap has grit! This natural and earthy batch of vegan soap is great for anyone who gets dirty or wants an exfoliating bar of soap. Mei-Ling Cheung has loved jewelry making with beads, fiber, clay, and paper since she was a small child. When she moved to Maine in 2007 she started a jewelry making business wire wrapping high quality gems and minerals. She dabbled in PMC (Precious Metal Clay) after taking a course at Haystack School of Crafts in 2014. In 2021 she taught herself how to silver solder and has been hooked ever since! Her classes focus on practical, hands-on skills and her style of teaching is fun and casual, yet structured and informative.
