Please note: This program will take place at Marcus Elementary. Transporation will be provided by Hockaday. Pick-up will take place at 4:45pm at Hoak Portico. Through a partnership with Common Cents and Marcus Elementary, Hockaday students will learn the ins and outs of fundraising, philanthropy, and charitable giving to make a meaningful impact in their community. Through student-led decision-making and service, we help young people identify community needs, support local nonprofits and develop the leadership skills to make a lasting difference. Students serve as decision-makers throughout the process by selecting a charitable cause, planning fundraising efforts, promoting community involvement, and presenting their donations to the nonprofit of their choosing during a check presentation ceremony. Through these experiences, students gain real-world experience while practicing teamwork, collaboration, and responsible stewardship of resources.
