Come join Gamma Sigma, the Girl Scouts' unique leadership program! (Note: Your child does not have to be a Girl Scout, but the fee includes one-year membership). If your child is already a member, please choose the member rate. This program allows girls and anyone identifying as a girl to come together to explore common interests in a safe space. As part of Gamma Sigma, you will identify a cause that you are passionate about and take action through service learning projects, as well as explore opportunities to help you decide on a career path and higher education options. If you attended OCYL's Leadership Academy this summer, Gamma Sigma is a perfect next step to build on that experience during the school year. No prior Girl Scout involvement or attendance at Summer Leadership is needed. Girls who are 2026-27 members of Girl Scouts may pay the Member Rate. 2 badges and a patch will be earned: The program was made in collaboration with Michelle Obama is centered around core GS themes and her book “Becoming Me”. These public service, mental wellbeing, and protecting the environment. Girls will earn the “Finding Common Ground” badge where they will learn about the US government and how officials are elected. They will also earn “The Science of Happiness” badge where they will learn what happiness and emotions are on a scientific level, and what they can do to improve their mental health. Finally, they will earn a "Leave No Trace" patch where they will learn about responsible exploration and stewardship of natural spaces.
