About this event
OCYL’s intentionally small Leadership Academy will focus on age-appropriate leadership skill building and will encourage participants to have a more positive and open attitude towards new and unknown ideas. Experienced facilitators using interactive workshops and utilizing the Monastery grounds for outdoor challenges, will instill appreciation and share the value of leadership skills. Students will strive to do their individual best, to be true to themselves and how to make a positive difference in their world. Participants will have the opportunity to work on community service projects and use their growing leaderships skills to benefit not only their own lives, but the lives of others. After attending the Leadership Academy participants will gain self-confidence as they focus on teambuilding, mindset, self-awareness, relationship skills, creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. (Note: CLA students registered for "Communication Skills for Young Women, grades 6-9" in the afternoon are eligible to stay at OCYL for a BYO (nut free) lunch period at no additional cost.)
