Find health and well-being regardless of your fitness level!! Classes are on-going, non-competitive, and open to ages 12 through adult. Led by senior Budoka Aric Conto.
This class offers traditional Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate in a positive, harmonious, injury-free environment. We include various drills, martial conditioning, and calisthenics into our curriculum to improve the practitioners overall health and well-being. Our purpose is continual self-improvement through the training of Okinawan Martial Arts.
Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate-do Class Format:
Full Body Gentle Warm Up (Junbi Undo) Basics I and II (Kihon) Full Body Conditioning/Calisthenics (Hojo Undo) Kata (Traditional Forms) Applicable Self Defense Analysis of Kata (Bunkai) Various Sparring Drills Inspired by Traditional Kata (Kumite) Grappling Drills Inspired by Kata (Tegumi No Undo) Okinawan Bo Staff Training (Kobudo) Cool Down/Individual Instruction
Feel free to wear comfortable clothing for movement; a Karate Gi is optional.
