About this event
This 3-hour workshop is geared towards littles (age 0-2) and their parents! Meet other parents, learn about foraging wild foods, and join us for a picnic where you and your little one can sample wild foods of the Pacific Northwest! Ingrid Gendreau ("Truffle") has led forays all over the Cascades and coastal regions of Oregon. She is the parent of one-year-old Leif, an avid flower picker and berry taster. Together they will be leading a foraging hike and wild food picnic for parents and their little ones in Willamette Park! Littles will have plenty of time to touch, pick, and explore edible plants as Truffle shares about their medicinal and culinary uses. At 11:00 we will have a picnic brunch in the park with tastings of foraged wild foods (nettle pesto, jams, foraged food purees, wild root roast, etc). Little ones are encouraged to try Pacific Northwest wild foods at the picnic! After brunch we will have free exploration and social time for littles, and then we continue foraging - with a free exit window to accommodate naps and schedules. Bring a picnic blanket. You are also welcome to bring your own lunch and/or food to share. Contact Truffle for more information at 415-987-5555 or ingridgendreau@gmail.com
