Join us on a family foraging day! We will learn common and uncommon spring fungi, herbals, and medicinal plants. We'll discuss sustainable and ethical foraging practices and process/prepare any edible finds as a group. Everyone is welcome- those with no foraging experience to the experienced forager. Our goal is that everyone comes away learning something. Children are welcome with parent attendees, all ages. We will meet at Coyle Outside Headquarters at 9:30 and take a 15 passenger van/caravan off site to our foraging location. Locations include Alsea falls area, Starker forests, and other natural areas within appx 30 minutes of Coyle Outside. Location will be decided and communicated in pre program email sent out the week before. Location will be decided based on weather and harvesting conditions (what's growing where). Wear layers and be prepared for rain, sun, or anything between. Pack a backpack with water, snacks, and lunch.
