Heart of the Valley Runners beginning trail running class guides selection of trail running gear and nutrition and hydration needs on trails in local natural areas. By end of class you should be able to complete 7 - 8 mile trail runs (at a pace that is correct for you) and establish training goals that serve you beyond the class. You will be mentored throughout your run and no runner runs alone.
Ages 12 – 14 can run with a participating adult. Please call 541-766-6918.The minimum pace goal (on flats), is 14 minutes per mile and on hills, 16-19 (depending on the hill). Questions? Ask. NOTE the average, expected minimum pace in this class is a 13-14 minute mile. This is faster than a walking pace most of the time, therefore the class is NOT designed for hikers or walkers who don't want to run.
