Description

This hike follows the Intertie trail and Woodpecker Loop. About two miles, an easy to moderate hike. The trail starts at the Headquarters area parking lot. We will look for spring wildflowers as we hike through forest and a slight climb up to an overlook with views of the valley and Cascade range. We will pass by a seasonal pond where rough-skinned newts and other amphibians might be seen.

We will meet at the William Finley National Wildlife Refuge Store and Headquarters. From the south end of Corvallis where you go under Highway 20/34, it's about 8.7 miles to Finley Road. Turn right onto Finley road. Follow Finley road

1.3 miles to Finley Refuge Rd, following it as it makes several turns.

Follow Finley Refuge Road about 2.5 miles to where you come to a Y junction. Take the left fork of this junction onto the road that directs you to the William Finley Refuge Store and park here.
