Program Description: During the American Revolution, Pennsylvania’s frontiers were hit hard by British and Indians attacks. Program topics include: (1) From Oriskany to the Wyoming Valley “Massacre” (2) Myth and reality: the roles of Native American women in the patriot defeat at Wyoming (3) The evacuation of the Susquehanna River’s branches (4) retaliation and reprisals:Hartley’s 1778 expedition and its consequencesInstructor: Roger Swartz, Class length 2.5 hours.
