Instructor: Sarah Hahn. In this sculpting course you will learn the techniques of building, carving, and modeling clay, as well as basic mold making. For students new to the medium of ceramic sculpture, the class sessions will cover various techniques and prompts for sculptures. Original ideas for creations are always welcome and instruction will be given to help obtain your goals. For those students who have previous ceramic and/or sculpting experience, guidance and assistance will be given as desired. Each student will receive one-on-one time with the instructor every session. Students provide their own tools and supplies. The studio is equipped with a slab-roller, extruder, and there are a range of studio glazes. Typically work is fired to a low-range temperature but mid-range firings can be arranged. The registration fee covers firing costs. All skill levels welcome.
