$15 LAB FEE DUE AT FIRST CLASS Learn a basic understanding of metalsmithing through creation of jewelry and small objects. You will be instructed in a variety of foundation skills including sawing, filing, hammering, riveting, soldering, etc. Classes are devoted to demos and bench time; individual assistance may be given as time permits. Attendance at first class is mandatory. Intermediate and advanced students may register for this class. Advanced level skills will be determined by the instructor. Note: This is not a bead-oriented jewelry class. No casting permitted.
Lab fee of $15 is due at the first week of class. Your fee will include a few materials to get you started. Beginners receive: Two- 2 x 4'' 20ga piece of base metal Three- 1/2" x 3" 8 g base metal ring blanks Five saw blades One dust mask Three- pieces of solder Three- sheets of sandpaper (1 each grade)
All subsequent sessions, your lab fee pays for use of the space, tools, equipment, and expendables the studio provides.
