About this event
What holds a bridge up? Why does a spinning top stay upright? How does light bend around a star? Thinking Physics explores the big ideas that govern the natural world — without requiring advanced math or prior experience. Through drawing, modeling, discussion, and hands-on exploration, students develop real physical intuition and a new way of seeing the world around them. Throughout the eight-week course, students will: • Explore mechanics, electricity & magnetism, thermodynamics, optics, and wave behavior • Investigate big-picture concepts in quantum theory, relativity, and astrophysics • Build models and visual representations of physical systems • Develop scientific reasoning through guided discussion and inquiry • Strengthen critical thinking and conceptual problem-solving skills • Learn to approach complex ideas with confidence and curiosity This course focuses on understanding why the universe works the way it does — not memorizing formulas. Students leave with a stronger foundation for future STEM study and a deeper appreciation for the beauty and logic of physics. No prior physics or advanced math experience is required — just curiosity and a willingness to think deeply. At BrandywineBOTS, we empower the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers through hands-on STEM experiences - and this course helps students see the world through a new scientific lens.
