About this event
Leader: Carole Bergmann At 3,700+ acres, Little Bennett Regional Park near Clarksburg, MD is a very special large, protected area which--due to its many habitats--harbors a rich plant diversity and also creates many niches for a wide range of wildlife. Retired Countywide Botanist/Forest Ecologist, Carole Bergmann, will introduce participants to this parkland’s seasonal plant abundance in addition to its general natural history on a leisurely hike of up to two miles. We will use natural surface park trails through a variety of plant communities, including both wet and dry meadows, high quality upland woods, early successional areas and riparian bottomlands, but do expect some uphill and downhill, which may be muddy and/or slippery.
