YEAR LONG CLASS, NO NEW STUDENTS ACCEPTED, RETURNING STUDENTS ONLY! Come and join the FCDS Award Winning Speech & Debate Team! Learn the art of persuasion and argumentation with Coach Zareen and Coach Brodie as we research exciting, worldview-expanding topics in preparation for our tournaments. Our tournaments take place through the Inland Valley Debate League (IVDL) and the Orange County Debate League (OCDL), where we travel by bus to compete against top schools for a chance at first place! This class is designated for returning 7th and 8th graders. We meet weekly on Mondays, with occasional Saturday Practices throughout the year and around two FULL DAY Saturday tournaments per session. This class will focus on fine tuning foundations skills already learned (ARESR, research techniques, speaking techniques, etc.) and work on individual growth from being a good debater to being the best debater! This is a year long commitment, as debate skills develop best through practice and hard work. Registration will occur each session, along with payment. Confidence starts here! (No class 2/20)
