CLASS DESCRIPTION Fun themes of sculpting and handbuilding projects are taught throughout the season, including many Spring themes and holidays like St. Patricks Day and Easter (alternatives will be provided for participants who don't celebrate these), with both decorative and functional pieces. Students in this class will produce approximately 6 small or medium projects in an 8-week session, depending on their productivity. All clay, glazes and shared tools are included in the 8-week session price. Handbuilding teaches foundational skills for forming ceramic objects using pinch, coil and slab techniques. Students will receive instruction, construction time, glazing time and expert assistance. Projects vary in both functional and sculptural works with an emphasis on student creativity (project guidelines allow for students to challenge themselves as they are able). Missed classes can be made up during our Drop-In times throughout the week.
