Successful completion of this course certifies participants to be eligible to work at shallow and deep water facilities including the 1-Mile Pool and Pleasant Valley Pool.

The primary purpose of the Lifeguarding for CA w/Bundle 5 is to train Lifeguard candidates to act with speed and confidence in emergency situations, both in and out of the water. This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies (up to 10ft) and provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over.

Also: First aid that meets CA Title 22.

Monday-Thursday, Sunday: PV Pool

Friday & Saturday: Durham Pool

Prerequisites:
15.5 years of ageComplete a swim-tread-swim sequence without stopping to rest. Complete a timed event within 1 minute and 40 seconds (Swim and surface dive to retrieve a 10-pound brick from the bottom of the pool, then swim 20 yards with the brick and return to the starting point.)
