Make your holiday season historic at Henricus!
As part of the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, Revolutionary War reenactors will portray the Chesterfield Militia of 1775, encamped on guard duty patrolling along the James River. The militia received news of the great victory at the Battle of Great Bridge, Va fought on December 9, 1775. The militia will do public readings of the account published in the Virginia Gazette newspaper and fire musket volleys in celebration of Virginia’s first military victory of the war!
It was a great Christmas present for Virginians early in the American Revolution.
